My first wedding 3 years ago today

Today is an anniversary of my first wedding I shot as a photographer. I can remember it as if it was yesterday. I was in college up in Dundaulk studying photography under Ken Finegan of ( http://www.newspics.ie) who thought me everything I know today and is still a great leader of the photographic profession. It was an exciting time for me doing my first wedding in my home town of Kilcock, I knew it like the back of my hand the church was like my home I knew the lighting, the background the ups & downs of it inside-out. Although I never done one before, I had attended loads of weddings as a child and watched everything that went on within a wedding day.

Was i nervous? – I would say maybe but as far as i can recall it I was pretty confident as i was taken photos in different situations everyday so it didn’t seem to bother me much with regards worrying, I told myself as long as i get the main family and bride & groom shots after that I’m flying. Get the photograph properly exposed was my MAIN target for my day. Like the weather was today, three years ago it was similar in weather style but didn’t stop me from getting some nice photos. I carried out the wedding with no flaws thankfully.

The church was in Kilcock town in co. kildare with the reception been held in the Hamlet Court Hotel in Johnstown not far from Enfield. Turned out to be a cracking wedding with great photos, band, Dj & a fantastic couple who I can gladly say are three years happily married today.

To Donna & Mick Rock, happy anniversary  from Darren Byrne Photography and many more of them.

Actor head shots – Photo shoot

Today was nice day in my studio doing portrait work with actor named Selina. She wanted to get nice head shots for her portfolio and we spent the guts of an hour to an hour and half, talking, taken photos while having some of those funny moments throughout it. Ive just put some of the images together of her and put them up to show the start of my work I composed on my new apple iMac computer. This really is an amazing machine and look forward to producing my high-end images from it. The lighting set-up will be shown in one of the images. But for anyone I shot with 2lights, One soft box to camera left and one to model far right to create highlight. Hope you enjoy my work. Thanks – Darren Byrne from Kilcock who is a member of the irish professional photographers association!

”Discover Kilcock” PROMO video*

Hi, I’ve been thinking about Kilcock and everything that goes on in the town, with regards trying to create jobs, promoting businesses, selling Kilcock as good place to be & visit. So I’ve come up with the idea to create a promo video for the town of Kilcock to show off its unique qualities and why people should visit, stay in Kilcock & shop in Kilcock etc. Im doing a poll here to see what people of kilcock think. This will be a something everyone from kilcock can get involved in.

What will be needed is,

  • Detailed list(s) of what we like to portray in our promo video,
  • What kind of audience we trying to target
  • Places in Kilcock that are unique and will show off Kilcock as an amazing place to be – The good things that kilcock has. Ie – Paul Robinson for irish running etc
  • Music to go with video to promote Kilcock and that will stay in peoples minds that that song reminds them of Kilcock or the video they saw of Kilcock town – Local Musicians could come up with theme song/sound
More stuff for this will be needed, as this is early stages i would like to just see who would be interested in helping out on project ”Discover Kilcock”. So please any suggestions on regards this please feel free to contact me, ill be taken names for the helping of this and all ideas are very welcome.

Moynalvey 2011 County Final Photos

Moynalvey defeated Gaeil Colmcille in the Intermediate Football Championship decider late in the second half after a strong battle  at Pairc Tailteann to claim a first title at the level since 1983.

Moynalvey Champions 2011 - Framed 12'' €80

This was a fine match between the two sides who both gave it there all through the full 70+mins. There was not one bit of dirty play throughout the whole game with the referee – Donal Smith of  Navan O’Mahony’s allowing a free flowing match. Moynalvey struggled in the first half been a mere 8 points down at one stage but bringing the lead of 8 points back down to 4 points entering the dressing room at half time.

Moynalvey came out all guns blazing in the second half with the belief that this wasn’t out of the reach and ready to push on and challenge the Gaeil Colmcille side for the title of been county champions. Alan Kelly team manager for Moynalvey made a few very important changes during the match period and clearly showed it was a vital move as Moynalvey won the match with the final score been –                                                                               Moynalvey 0-15
Gaeil Colmcille 1-10
